This cozy, comfortable downtown poolside condo is located near so much in DT Durham. It is walkable to major attractions, parks, restaurants, and entertainment venues. There are lovely outdoor spaces, comfy beds, and a charming, unique building. The first-floor condo is next to pool, lovely gardens, cookout areas, shuffleboard, and human-sized chessboard. Close to Duke East Campus and Duke Hospital. Business travelers welcome. Non-shedding dogs under 25lbs $50/dog or $75/ 2 dogs (max 2 dogs).
The space
The condo is very clean, well-decorated and well-stocked with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Keurig coffee and still and carbonated water are provided. Pearl Mill Flats is within easy walking distance of downtown Durham restaurants and entertainment venues (15 minute walk). My favorite restaurant, Blue Note Grill (great food and live music) is less than two blocks away. Durham Performing Arts Center and the Durham Bulls Baseball Park are about a 2-minute drive or 25-minute walk from Duke Tower. Small dog <20 pounds allowed for $50/stay. Sorry No cats allowed due to allergies.
Guest access
All areas of the property are accessible to our guests. These areas include lovely gardens in the courtyard, grill and picnic areas, seating and conversation areas, shuffleboard, human-sized chess, and a large lighted pool. Unassigned parking is ample and very close to your unit. The property is protected with security cameras and ample lighting.
Other things to note
The pool, decking and landscaping around it were renovated in Spring of 2017. There is a very comfortable queen sofa bed in the living room with an upgraded foam mattress. There is also a very comfortable recliner.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Bob’s condo in Pearl Mill Flats. The Flats are close to the city center and at the site of an old textile mill going back to the 1800s. There is a central courtyard with walkways, a pool, charcoal grills, and a tower that was part of the original structure. Accessing the condo was straightforward and there is plenty of parking. The condo was neat, clean, stylish, and perfect for our needs. We liked the neighborhood a lot. It is a short walk to restaurants, a brewery, music venues, and a coffee house, and other parts of town are easy to get to by car. We would happily stay there again.

There is a nice guest book with info about the condo as well as places to visit in Durham as well as suggested places to eat. Even though we didn’t meet Robert he made checkin easy and was always available if any questions. The apartment was very safe and clean just like the pictures and in walking distance to many hip things. We would definitely stay there again!!

The appartment is vey well equiped and a nice place to stay, I spent some evenings reading outside near the pool and all was very comfortable as well as it felt safe.
The walk to the restaurants at mainstreet is just over 5 minutes

I really like the well equipped space Robert provides. I don’t do any real cooking while I’m there, but we love the public spaces, including the pool and grounds, and in the evening, I enjoy the cable TV choices including the full array of HBO stations, as well as cable news. I’m able to keep my usual breakfast and lunch foods, and then have dinner out. It really is a great location, in walking distance to Whole Foods and a very well stocked Harris Teeter, plus parks, Duke Gardens and all that the downtown has to offer. A great choice when in Durham!

Truly, thanks so much for all the positive comments. I really strive to provide what my guests need for a comfortable stay, and I try to do the things I would want a host to do for me. Basically the only complaint I have had is noise-either noisy people or traffic noise on Trinity Ave; I guess that just comes with the territory. I meant to ask before, on your first visit, didn’t you have a quest that used the sofa bed for a night? I just wondered how it worked out and if it slept ok. I believe that is the first time it has been used as a bed.

This Pearl Mills Flat condo offers everything I need for my stays in Durham visiting my family here. It’s an attractively decorated unit, which is easily accessed digitally, and Robert is flexible with scheduled arrival times, responsive to any request, and always gracious.
The pool was an August and early September delight for me, my daughter and my granddaughter. The unit is amply stocked with fine coffee, has HBO and HBO on demand (serving my need to catch up on Game of Thrones and then enjoy the finale). It’s walking distance from most everything but especially my daughter’s home and a very nearby creekside trail. The towels are soft and absorbent, the pillows offer varying amounts of loft so I could find the very one I enjoyed using. I cannot think of a need that was not met and recommend it most highly. My daughter and son in law were working on their house and needed their 18 month old daughter out of their house for a day at a time. They took to calling my unit, grandma’s day camp, and it suited us in every way. I will be back!

Wonderful location for all things Durham. The condo was clean and well stocked. The beds we’re very comfortable. It’s a small space perfect for 2 people. It was great to have a pool! Robert was easily accessible and accommodating. You can’t go wrong staying here!

This is a nice location for downtown Durham (which has become a happening place with great food places and new ball park) and for Duke University. It is in a condo development in an old factory. All doors face the courtyard which has a delightful pool. This one-bedroom condo feels just right for a couple, but there are two double bed so children will work as well. Good air conditioning, a full size stove, microwave and fridge, but no toaster. Having a door code rather than a key eases my fear of losing said key. Robert is helpful and responds quickly to questions. The flat is clean and well furnished, including two TVs and a powerful internet connection. When I return to Durham, I will see if this apartment is available

This condominium is very comfortable and is more updated than another unit in the same complex that I had stayed in on another occasion. This is a great location. I love being able to walk to Rise Biscuits in the morning and stopping by the Farmers’ Market on Saturdays. Bob is a very thoughtful host, and everything was just as it was described. I hope to stay there again the next time I am in Durham.

Very nice place, newly re-modeled and a little nicer than other units we say in same complex. Poolside, but pool undergoing work so check completion date so you won’t be surprised. Very well stocked with new, plush towels, Keurig coffee maker. Small in size, but comfortable for two and very efficient for getting downtown via 10 minute walk.

Nice value and convenient location close to downtown Durham. Can comfortably accommodate 1-3 individuals or 2 couples. Well stocked kitchen and bathroom. Great bonus to have access to a pool right outside your door. The whole courtyard area is clean and a pleasant place to sit in the sun.
Only drawbacks I can think of is that both bed frames were pretty squeaky, but the foam mattresses were quite comfy. Also the blinds pretty much have to stay down all the time to maintain privacy. But if you want some sunlight you’ll get plenty of it by the pool or elsewhere in the very spacious courtyard.
Would definitely recommend and go back next time I’m in Durham!

We stayed 10 nights and were happy with Bob’s place throughout. It was comfortable and clean with reliable wifi, a full kitchen of appliances, nice hot showers, a laundry room in the building, ample basic supplies, and plenty of drawer and closet space for clothes. Bob made the check-in and check-out process all self-service and smooth. His communications were prompt and informative. The location served us well. We were able to walk to nearby coffee and eateries, as well as walking downtown and to the farmer’s market. We also had a car and had no issues since the parking lot had plenty of open spaces and the location makes it easy to navigate to/from there. Thanks Bob!

We have now stayed at Bob’s place for the second time, because it is a comfortable accommodation at a good location in Durham. As before, the stay has just been great! This condo is very recommendable for a short stay at Durham and we would come back anytime in the future. We met Bob in person this time.
